Finally, a home that feels easy to live in.

Home organisation and systems design for families who are tired of feeling overwhelmed. Practical systems that reduce stress, simplify daily life and continue working long after the organising is done.

Tired of feeling like everything is on you?

You're constantly tidying. Constantly looking for things. Constantly thinking about what needs to be done next.

No matter how much effort you put in, the clutter comes back. The cupboards overflow. The paperwork piles up. The kitchen counters fill up again.

And somehow, it always feels like you're the one holding everything together.

You don't need more willpower. You need systems that make everyday life easier.

The Approach

A better system changes everything.

Most homes aren't designed around the people who actually live in them. That's why so many organising projects fail.

At Mess Happens, we redesign the way your home functions. Together, we'll create practical systems that reduce friction, simplify decisions and make everyday life easier. We bring deep expertise in ADHD-friendly home systems for the households that need them.

The result isn't a perfect home. It's a home that feels calmer, more manageable and easier to maintain.

Four ways to make your home easier to live in.

About me

Hi, I'm Ulle.

I'm a systems thinker, problem solver and home systems designer. For over 20 years, I designed systems, solved complex problems and helped people navigate change as a product manager. Everything I do starts with the same question: how does this actually work, and how can it work better?

Today I bring that thinking into people's homes, designing environments that reduce overwhelm, lower the daily mental load and make family life easier to run.

I'm an ADHD coach with lived experience. I'm also a wife, a mother of two and an expat. I know why traditional organisation advice fails the people who need it most, and how to build systems that actually stick.

The goal isn't perfection. It's a home that's easier to live in.

Why work with me

Systems Thinking

For 20 years, I've designed systems, solved complex problems and helped people navigate change. Every project starts with understanding how a system works, and how it can work better.

ADHD Coach Training

Professional ADHD coaching education and ongoing certification, for systems that work with the brain you actually have.

Lived Experience

Deep personal understanding of overwhelm, mental load and the gap between knowing and doing.

Custom Solutions

Woodworking, DIY and 3D printed solutions when standard organisers aren't enough.

Judgement-Free Support

No shame. No criticism. No perfectionism. Just practical help.

Practical Implementation

Hands-on help, not just advice. I'll build the systems for you and your family, together with you, where practical.

Common questions

Can you help if none of us has ADHD?+

Of course! My systems are simply battle-tested on ADHD brains, which means that they tend to be more resilient and help you keep organised through life's ebbs and flows.

Do I need to buy expensive storage products?+

No. I start with what you already have. When new storage is genuinely needed, I recommend simple, durable, affordable solutions. I build custom pieces when nothing off-the-shelf fits.

Can you work with teenagers?+

Yes, absolutely. My goal is to coach, not control, building independence, confidence and skills that last beyond the project. However, the teen must actually want me to help, or none of it will work.

Can you organise an entire house?+

Yes. I work room by room or whole-home. Whole-home projects usually run across several sessions so the systems get tested in real life and refined as we go.

Does my whole family have to be on board?+

That depends. If we're dealing with a bit of scepticism rather than outright push-back, that's normal. We can start in areas of your home that you have the most control over. I often find that once the first systems are in place, the rest of the family will quickly realise the benefits, and the scepticism tends to evaporate. That said, since the process includes decluttering as well, everyone must be on board with letting go of things that no longer serve you.

Do you help after moving house?+

Yes. Setting up a new home is the perfect moment to design ADHD-friendly systems from day one, with no untangling old habits first.

Do you work with expat families?+

Often. Many of my clients are international families settling in Lisbon, Cascais or Sintra. Sessions are conducted in English.

What areas do you serve?+

Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra, plus surrounding areas on request.

How long does a project take?+

A single room is typically 1–2 sessions. A whole-home project usually runs 4–8 sessions over a few weeks, with time between sessions to test and refine the systems.
